Big Baby! Giant puppy full of spunk and love!  Think Clifford the Big Red Dog meets Scooby-Doo, with Goofy thrown into the mix as well. 

·         “Does he come with a saddle?” 

·         “He looks like a mini pony!” 

·         “His pictures do not do him justice! He’s so big and beautiful!”

These are some of questions and comments I get whenever I’m walking Big Baby!  Yes, he is big (90 lbs)!  And yes, he’s a baby (1 year old)!  He’s big and he’s a beauty.  He literally stops people in their tracks.  You cannot help but stop and stare at him.  His beautiful caramel color looks so soft and, cuddly like an (extra large) Teddy Bear.  He’s friendly; he’s lively.  He loves to meet everyone he sees. 

He’s had a rough beginning in life – no fault of his own.  He lived outside prior to coming to the shelter.  And yet, he’s just a loving pup. 

Growing up as a puppy in a shelter is tough.  But he’s quite smart (cane corso) and learning quickly.  He loves treats; he loves to train.  Here are some of the things Big Baby is learning:

·         Being around and approaching people calmly.

·         Sitting upon approach.

·         Loose leash walking.

·         Focus and check-in skills.

·         Sniffing – the world is made of lots of smells.

He loves to play and run around.  Picture a big, goofy boy (remember Big Red Clifford and Goofy!) running towards you, jumpy around, just being happy to be with you and be out and about.  Now admittedly, sure, when he comes running, or more like galloping, towards you, one might have moments of “Oh no, is this going to be the end of me?!?”  Ok, yes, a bit dramatic, but did I say he’s big?!?  But he’s never run me over (yah!!!); he’s light on his feet and dances around like puppies do. 

He loves to play; he’s still fairly uncoordinated (which is fun to watch!) as he’s still growing into his big paws.  He’s big but he also tires fairly quickly (mastiff).  Once settled in a home, I could see him being more of a chill dog. 

Like most dogs, he can be dog selective although he lived outside with several dogs.  So bring your dogs and your people in to meet this boy.  Just to meet him is a fun adventure!
