GUS - 2 years old (DOB 10/09/2020) house trained, good with dogs, no cats, recommend no children.

GUS - For days I tried to make friends with Gus but it wasn’t until we took the kennel cage out of the equation and I was able to meet him out in the yard and holy frijoles, what a playful and friendly and happy boy Gus is! He does not stop playing. Period. He finds the closest toy, picks it up, and shakes it as he spins in circles! It was quite entertaining as he seemingly whacked himself in the face as he shook the toys! It took a few minutes but eventually he would approach me, toy in mouth, and pretty much offer it to me! We played tug until he let go for me to toss it and repeat this over and over. Gus plays and will play 24-7 if given the opportunity. One day I was walking dogs in his kennel and heard loud banging. It was Gus playing with a huge blue kong type ball he had in his cage! I was told caretakers have to separate the ball from him to allow him to relax. Gus is a good boy. He’s just stuck in an uncomfortable and unfamiliar place behind bars without a family that he knows. He was surrendered after the family moved into a new home and wasn’t doing well with the kids. Call VBACAC at 757. 385. 4444 to make an appointment to meet him.
