In an effort to help our “Long-Timers” out of the shelter and into forever homes, adoption fees through the end of the year will be $0 for any animal who has been at the shelter for 6+ months. No adoption event or special fee weekend necessary!*** Gypsy came to Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center in May of 2022. She was shy and a bit hesitant to be leashed. She has since discovered that walks are fun and that treats are wonderful rewards for her obedience training. Gypsy has the cutest Sit and rolls all the way over when given the Down command. While Gypsy is dog social outside of her home, she is a resource guarder and struggles with sharing toys and food within the home. She should be the only dog in the home. Older children would be needed for this as well so they understand when to allow Gypsy to have her own space and when it is play time.
